Training

The A* Foundation has partnered with Intelligent Energy Systems to develop a training facility in Anchorage. The partnership puts industry practice behind the A* framework, so the people who integrate and operate power systems are the people teaching how it is used on a project.

Renewable generation, storage, and site load have to be operated as one system. That is difficult to do from commissioning notes alone. Utility managers need a clear view of how the plant is performing, and the people on shift need to know how to run it through a normal day and a disturbance.

The A* training prepares both groups for that work. Courses start with the basics of microgrids and continue through rolling out a project, checking that it operates as intended, and modelling what to improve next.
